Late overdrive shift and other issues

Hey everyone. I just ran into a problem with my car. For a couple days I've been noticing what feels like a bit of surging when I let my foot off the brake if I want to coast a bit at a stop. It did it real bad when I put it into reverse today. It doesn't do it when I give it throttle. I drove to the next town over and back, but when I got off the highway I had no overdrive. After some drive testing I found that it comes on at 50 mph, which seems quite a bit late.

I did a search, but I couldn't find what I was looking for. Any ideas? Is this the start of a failing 700R4? The other issue it has is that at wot it doesn't shift to 2nd until 5500 rpm (suppose to be 5000) and to third until 5200.

Also, I adjusted the tv cable, but no luck.

Does anyone know the symptoms of a bad tcc solenoid?

A bit of wisdom here but sometimes something that seems to be true really isn't true.

I don't quite think I understand what your saying...? Please elaborate...I'm kind of tired lol. Thank you for the response though.

I hooked her up to my laptop with an aldl cable to see if the tcc is locking up, which it is. While I was driving it all hooked up, it kind of slipped once in a parking lot and shortly after started working correctly. I don't know what happened, but all is fine now. So, just a fluke or should I be worried for the near future? Thanks.
