accumulator valve
Im in the process of installing a shift kit in my 1992 700r4 and Im at the step where you remove the accumulator valve. Well I tell you what, that damn thing was the hardest thing to remove. In the process of removing the accumulator body its not in the best of shape anymore and it looks like I need a new one. Is it normal for this valve to be that difficult to remove?
I still have to mess with some of the other springs and install the corvette servo. Any other surprises like the accumulator valve I have to look forward to?

What valve body kit are you going to use? You will need to go in the bore and get rid of any high spots so as not to damage the accumulator bushing on reinstallation.

As a matter of fact I bought the heavy duty transgo shift kit with the corvette servo from your shop almost a year ago and Im finally getting around to installing it. Could you steer me in the right direction on getting the correct replacement part and the process of getting it installed and correcting any high spots I may have. Could it be that I had some high spots is why I had such difficulty pulling the sleeve.
While we are on the subject Im also in the process of drilling the seperator plate and you gave me a few sizes of drill bits I would need for the job. I also resurfaced the sperator plate with some 220 grit sandpaper to remove any high spots.
Here is the sheet you sent me and the best matches I could find are #42, #45, #35 and a 1/8"bit. Let me know if this is correct.

#35 = .110", #42 = .093", #45 = .082". The bore had a high spot to start with, that is why the hard time on removing it. The accumulator sleeve needs to be filed flat, and the bore honed lightly or sanded to remove the high spots. If your accumulator sleeve is not saveable, then you will need to replace it with another just like yours. Yours should have the letter "B" on the end of the accumulator bushing, if it came out of a typical V-8 application. You can use the letter "A" or "B" here. The ones from Sonnax will not work correctly with the TransGo Shift kit the way it is now. Any shop should be able to help you on this. If you cannot find one call me and I will send you one. I am low on these right now and can only spare one when absolutley necessary. Take a picture of yours and lets see if it is saveable. Dana

Yes I really had a hard time removing it so it was forced a bit. I really hated how much force it took to get it out. It doesnt look good to me. The end has a letter B on it. The valve inside also sticks. Luckily it looks like the bore is fine. If you can give me a part# maybe I can locate a new sleeve myself. Not one of these parts including the valve wanted to come out gracefully. The valve doesnt look so hot either.
