Gasket Sealer
A simple question but I can do without the leaks and I wanted to know what others have done. I'm changing the pan gasket and filter on a 700r4 mostly because it's already leaking. Kit comes with a rubber gasket. Do I smear extra extra gasket sealer like blue perma on both sides of the gasket or will that just make it worse?

Re: Gasket Sealer
if its a rubber gasket, i would not put sealer on it. if its a paper type gasket, then yes.
or i suppose you could just say screw the gasket and just RTX the thing right on. let it cure 24hours before final torque and adding fluid though
