Gearbox symbols

Here comes a little noob question

On my gearbox i got the symbols P, R , N ,D ,D ,1 2

One of the Ds got a circle or a thin line around it.

What is this?

Is one of them overdrive or something?

And hoe does this work?

Man that's most noob question I've ever seen! But we all start somewhere so I won't ridicule you like most others will.

1= 1st gear
2= 2nd gear
D= 3rd gear
(D)= 4th gear (overdrive)

So drive the car in (D) (overdrive) that way you'll save fuel. An overdrive gear simply reduces your engine RMP at higher speeds, thus allowing the engine to not work so hard, and saving fuel. You have a 4-speed overdrive automatic AKA 700R4 transmission.

No question to too dumb to ask so never hesitate.

Also is your handle 'crazyeight' a reference to 'Breaking Bad?' If so I'm the biggest fan of that show!
