Sticky syncro

You guys ever seen a syncro stick to a gear?

In a trans I was cleaning up and putting in my car, the 3rd gear syncro was stuck to the gear, so when the fork was centered in the neutral position it was still suck in 3rd. I pryed the syncro off the 3rd gear, lubed it up, and it seems ok now. Just curious.

Trans was emptied, cleaned out, and has been on the bench for 2 years. Could just be from being dry.. Just thought it was strange. Happened after I took the tailshaft housing off, replaced speedo gears, and put back on. Perhaps when I slide it on and pushed the tail shaft inward it got stuck from the impact?

Re: Sticky syncro

Do you mean the blocker ring? It can stick if it gets dry of fluid.

The brass ring with the nipples on it.

Is it called a blocker ring or a syncro?

I'm not a trans expert I've taken them apart, know how they work, but often make up my own part names.

Re: Sticky syncro

Yeah, that's the blocker.. The Synchro is actually the complete assembly, consisting of the hub, the slider, and the blocker.
