Transgo SK700

I was looking into this kit for my 700R4 for quicker shifts and less lag. But I have a couple questions for people who have gotten this kit.

First off this is the one that comes with the corvette servo in it? Correct?

And second i saw in the description that is said it makes the converter lockup without wiring. Im looking to put a 350 Carb setup in the car and i know you have to either get a non lockup torque converter or a kit like they have on summit. With this kit does that mean i wont need either of those?

thanks for any feedback

Re: Transgo SK700

I'm pretty sure you have to order the Vette servo separate from the shift kit. None of the shift kits from TransGo include a new servo. The lockup is normally controlled electronically through your ECM. If you're ditching the computer to run an old school carb motor you'll need to buy one of those lockup kits from Summit or Jegs. They use engine vacuum to determine when to lock up the converter. You'll also need to order a bracket for the carb so you can hook up your TV cable and be able to adjust it correctly. Summit and Jegs sell TV adapter brackets for most popular carbs (Rochester, Holley, Edelbrock, etc.). BTW, another good upgrade for quicker, firmer shifts is installing a .500 boost valve. Between the shift kit, Vette servo, and a .500 boost valve, it should shift very nice. If you're running a decent cam in the new motor, putting in a 2200-2600 stall converter would wake things up nicely as well. I'd suggest retaining your lockup feature since overdrive is always a nice thing to have on the freeway. Only extremely radical motors usually require running a 700r4 with a non-lockup converter.
