So what will a stock 9 bolt deal with as far a HP and torque? Gears and carrier will be replaced. If it's gona do what I want, maby I won't need to do a rearend swap.

Re: 9 bolt horsepower?

if i remember correctly i read an article where it said that the nine bolt for our cars were rated at 290hp and 320tq.. i know the numbers are really close to what i said... if you add a performance girdle with studs from TA performance that nine bolt will be 25 percent stronger so it will up the rating to 362hp and 380tq.... again im not totally sure about the numbers... but people having been running way higher numbers than those and the nine bolt holds up for them... so im not really sure...

More than a 10-bolt. What kinda power are you planning on making?

Re: 9 bolt horsepower?

yeah with that horsepower you need a upgraded rear end like moser or dana...... the stock one will not last.... i say the nine bolt is perfect for a mild build 350.... plus parts are alot harder to come by with the nine bolt....
