rear end question.
I have a 1986 Camaro Iroc-Z28 with a 305 and a 5 speed. Its a limited slip rear end and i was looking to up grade to a posi. Any suggestions on a new rear end and how hard of a job is it.

The following will provide some food for thought:

Re: rear end question.
Yea, posi is Eaton's name for their limited slip differential. Posi is limited slip. If you are spinning one wheel then you have a standard differential or "open" differential. You could also have a worn nout limited slip, which would be the Auburn in this case. The Aubrun is not rebuildable, so you would have to replace it anyway. I recommend installing a new Eaton Posi in the rear end that you have. You will have 26 spline axles in your '86. You will need bearings and shims to install it, and a dila indicator with a magnetic base to measure backlash.
