TCI tranny rebuild kit

Has anyone used the TCI pro super rebuild kit? My current stock rebuild, Lasted 2 yrs behind my 355, and one half race season behind my 408. Does anyone else have any other suggestions on what I can change internally to make the TH350 more torque friendly?

Thanks
John

Not to be a smart *** but what do you do when it stops working Just take it out and build another one? Why not take it apart and see whats wrong with it and improve it in those areas? You can't expect a stock trans to handle a non stock engine anyway.
According to my guess that 1/8 mile time equals a low 13 high 12 seconds, I run a stock 700R4 faster than that with no problems, I also run a modified th350 in a nova behind a 406 that runs 12.6, The th350 has wide bushings, TCI intermediate race, Alto red frictions, Superior Products/Fairbanks shift correction package. Nothing serious.

Give us a hint on what goes wrong with your transmissions and someone can give more specific information on the modifications you should make.

It was a cheap a-- transgo stock rebuild. It was bought and installed just to get the car moving. I was not expecting to get over 2yrs out of it. The clutches were about the thickness of sheet paper with a tiny bit of sand on them. And my other question was does anyone make stonger sprag and bands that might not be in the TCI kit?
Damn I didn't think I would have to spell everthing out.

Install wider than stock direct drum bushing, use four sun gear bushings instead of two and drill oil holes for them, Use a TCI or other hardened intermediate race, machine the direct piston so you can use five frictions, leave the waved cushion plates in the non shifting clutches, set intermediate clutch clearance to .030 to .040, set direct clutch clearance less than .050, set trans endplay to .030 to .005 get a good shift reprogramming kit. Don't use type F fluid. Use an aftermarket cooler.

The TCI kit has clutches, steels, bushings, rubber parts, etc. It has no hard parts like sprags, the band is only used for engine braking so unless you plan on a lot of road racing stock should be fine. The band in the TCI kit should be better than stock anyway.
I Never used a TCI kit, B&M uses decent parts but their bushings are stock, even though their tech line says they aren't. It has no valve body kit so you can choose any brand you want.
