Anyone done Pro Built Kit for 700R4?
I just bought the Heavy Duty kit from Pro Built as an X-mas gift for myself <g>. It arrived today, so I opened it up just to check and the directions say " Warning: This is not a do-it-yourself kit. It's for the experienced, professional trans mechanic ONLY."
I'm definitely not a professional, never had a tranny apart before.
The directions are NOT a step by step format so I was wondering if I should even attempt this. Anyone else "been there" ? What'd ya do?

If you have never been inside a 700 then leave it alone if your car is needed in the next month or so. I only say this because I have been a mechanic for the last 12 years and my first 700R4 was a nighmare, even with an ATSG book. You should be able to find someone who has rebuilt this transmission before and convince them to oversee your work. Get a manual, seriously!! I am not trying to scare you, but these are relatively complicated transmissions because of the amount of parts inside. Good luck!!
