Problems with Skulte crossmember NEED HELP ASAP
Ok, I am winding down on my swap now, just need to tie up a few loose ends. However, I went to bolt my transmission in tonight and the crossmember doesn't fit at all. The passenger side bolts kind of line up but the drivers side doesn't at all. Plus, the fuel lines that run down the drivers side of the tranny tunnel won't even let the drivers side of the crossmember touch the frame rail.
The transmission is bolt to the engine and the hole for the shifter is cut. I have no idea what I am going to have to do from here. I can't see any way that this will fit and I can't get a different crossmember since I am running long tubes and need the space for the y pipe to run through there.

It sometimes looks like it has no way of fitting, but it does.. I bolt one side onto the frame loosely, then bolt the other side. The bolt through the Xmem to the poly-mount goes last. (How did you mock everything up to cut the tunnel hole? ) You may need some slight pressure with a prybar to get the Xmem and polymount to align enough to get the bolt in.
AFAIK the SPD long-tube Xmem requires you to unbolt and relocate the fuel lines up above the Xmem? I have a very early model and that's what I had to do with mine.

For the hole I just mounted the transmission to the engine and then held it up into place with a tranny jack. Cut the hole as needed from inside the car and then went underneath to bolt everything up and that's where I ran into the problems above.
How did you reroute the lines? Did you just push them out of the way or did you have to run new lines? God I hope its just pushing them out of the way, I don't have the time or desire to run new ones now...

You should be able to push the lines out of the way. See if they are strapped to the body close to the crossmember. removing a strap will help move the lines.

Yeah, there's a strap right near where the crossmember mounts, I just didn't know for sure if the lines had enough give in them to be pushed out of the way like that.
