Hooking up Dakota Digital box--problems....

Ok heres the problem. I got power to the box, simple enough. For the other lines, I have one line coming from the sender going to the spd in on the box, a line going from output (tried 3 and 4) to the computer. The other line on the sender goes right to the other line to the computer.
It reads nothing untill about 25mph then it shoots right to 150 (pins the needle) I checked all the switches they're properly set in theory. Double checked the wiring, looks good. I'll give it another good going over in the morning when it's light again, but in the mean time anyone else have a similar problem and fix it? Are the wires all attached the way they're supposed to be? I'm usually pretty good with electronics but this one is irritating me.

I had problems too. I will have to go look at mine. But I think I ended up using output 5.

I'm thinking I wired something wrong, I've tried outputs 3,4,5 differant switch settings and keep getting the same thing. Hopefully I didn't just get a bad box.

You didn't mention two things:

1.) ground from the DD box
2.) ground from one pin of the VSS output

Check 'em. Then check your DIP switch settings.

Figured it out. Had to run one vss line direct to the ground on the box instead of the ground from the computer. Then it almost worked, after another 3 hours of bashing my head against the wall, I take a really close look at the box and it turns out there is a loose solder joint. Remelt the solder joint a viola, it works! I'm not a total idiot after all =)
Thanks for the help peeps.
