clutch disengagement problems
Well for the past few weeks I have been working on trying to figure out why my clutch would not disengage. I was driving it one day and it was really bad.. first I couldn't get it into gear at a light and then I kept it in gear and my rpms would drop. Like the clutch was slipping. well i went straight home and was lucky to pull in the driveway when whatever it was finally stopped working. My pedal had always not been that great so I bled it then one by one replaced the slave cylinder and master cylinder to the clutch. well none of that worked. So yesterday i pulled my transmission knowing it had to be somwhere within the clutch. After pulling the transmission out I realized that the throwout bearing was not pushing on all the splines. and upon further inspection some of the bolts had become extremely loose. When I put that clutch on the motor was out of the car and everything was torqued to specs. Here is a link to the clutch kit on my car.

I was wondering if this has happened to anyone and what was the direct result of it? I'd like to get this fixed with as little trial and error as possible. But atleast now I believe that a t5 will NOT hold up to a 383 as when i dumped the tranny fluid out it defineitely had tons of metal shavings in them. Anyway if your still reading this thanks and any experiences/solutions you might have will surely be appreciated.

This isn't good news for me. I'm putting a T-5 behind a 350 with some Nitrous. How often do you actually get on the gas, and use your power?

Re: clutch disengagement problems
well I've had it on the road for about 2 months now. I'd say I've got maybe 1200 miles on it since. And about 500 of those were break in. It was taken to the strip once but besides that wasn't really abused. but for only having 1200 miles on that tranny fluid it sure can't be a good sign..

Well darn, I hope the T5 lasts me a while. I never doing any launches at all, just the three honks and jam on the gas stuff on the highway.

Mine wasn't the greatest to begin with. but I guess it wouldn't hurt to put it back there and see how long it lasts.
