Hughes 22-30L bolt sizes?

Does anyone know what size bolts this torque converter needs for the flexplate to torque converter bolts? I called hughes and they at first said 3/8, 24; but then said there shouldn't be threads in the converter holes and to use a nut to tighten. I'm at work but I thought there was threads in the holes. Either way the bolts from the stock converter are too small so anyone know for sure what size, thread, and length bolts I need?

My converter uses 7/16" bolts with stover nuts. The head of the bolt needs a 5/8" wrench and the nut needs a 11/16" wrench. If it uses 3/8" bolts, you use a 9/16" wrench on the nut and bolt.

Only the larger factory style converters have threaded holes. The smaller converters have tabs coming off the converter to bolt to the flexplate. With these tabs, you need to use a nut and bolt.

Mine is actually smaller than the stock one. It has a metal ring welded to the tabs on the converter and has it's own tabs welded to the ring. It looks like they took a oem converter, welded the ring to the original tabs, and then welded tabs to that ring to line up with the flexplate.

That's the common way to do it. The holes in the tabs will not be threaded. Get some fine thread grade 8 bolts long enough to go through the tab and flexplate and put a stover (not a nylock) nut on it. You'll also probably use 7/16" bolts.
