Aftermarket Performance torque converters with lockup and anti-ballooning plate..

Thinking about swapping out of my T5 and going into a built 700r4 and am looking to try to find some aftermarket torque converters. I need a 3000 stall, lockup capabilities, and an anti ballooning plate. So far I have not been able to find any converters out there that have all of these things. Anyone know where I can find something?

Plenty of manufacturers make a converter with that stuff. Vigilante might be the most well known. B&M makes them, but stall selection is limited. Be prepared to spend some coin too. A high stall lockup can cost from $350 to $800.

Look on edge racing converters website. Andre is a great guy and definetely knows his converters. I believe the street edge is the one I have its the 2nd level they have and it can support some good power. It is 9.5", has built in anti ballooning plates, and can be stalled higher than 3000 I think I got 3200. On top of all that they sell theirs cheaper than anyone elses and is just as good if not better.

Re: Aftermarket Performance torque converters with lockup and anti-ballooning plate..

Thanks for the heads up. I will have to check out edge converters and see what they offer. I have come to the realization that a converter can have either lockup OR the anti ballooning plate, not both. Well not technically, anyway. If the converter has lockup capabilities, and the company lists it as also having the plate, then the converter body is made of billet material which is stronger than the regular material and can withstand swelling.

Incorrect my edge is a lockup and has anti ballooning plates and is not billet unless the internals are.
