how to build bullet proof TH700?
its an 89 TH700, I am going to be putting the trans behind a 383 w/ 12psi procharger. Need recommendations on what parts are needed to hold up to this power. Thanks

I'm sure some people will disagree with me but from personal experience I'd say get a different tranny. The 700R is weak, when you start getting up there in power it's going to fail. I'd either get a TH350 or if you want to keep O/D as I do, go with a 200R. For the 200R you'll need a different crossmember and torque arm(spohn sells the setup) and a new, shorter driveshaft. As far as the computer controlling lock-up I don't know. I'm using a non-lock up converter. Either way, a tranny swap will save you money and plenty of aggravation in the long run. Something to consider. Just my .02
Oops, didn't look careful and see it's an 89. If your speedo is electric there may be other issues but the 200R worked in the 89 TTA so there must be a way.

Do some looking around some of the past posts on the board, go to www.probuilt.net , www.700raptor.com and many others to get ideas of what's out there. That's what I'm doing, and I'm taking a few things from each, and some things I know from my experience to build mine.
------------------
Working on:
'84 Z28 LG4 305 with 208,000 original miles!
Dual electric fans (from a formula).
145 MPH IROC Speedo
430 HP 350 (ZZ430) Coming soon! (Building it myself, so I don't get those AWESOME valve covers!)
Starting to look like the Kicker poster child!
ASE Certified Master Tech
+ L1 Advanced Engine Performance
+ X1 Undercar Specialist
And....A sig. that's getting way too long!
