700R-4 HELP FAST!!!!

Hi guys im new to the forum here and i really need some help. I have a 700R-4 out of a 84 camaro, bought it rebuilt from a guy at work, his uncle rebuilt the major internals and he reworked the valvebody. Now, when the tranny was in the car it had problems shifting from i think 2nd to 3rd, it sounded like it was trying to downshift instead or go into reverse, couldnt tell you for sure. Anyway, i dropped the tranny and began my inspection. upon removal of the valvebody i counted 2 checkballs that were unneeded, and ive got one stuck down in a tunnel (or pool), heres a pic the area circled in red and an arrow pointing to the tunnel going down were the checkball is sitting.....is it supposed to be in there??? I've got a haynes manual but it says nothing about it. Please help!!!! BTW this site rocks

Re: 700R-4 HELP FAST!!!!

I don't have my books handy, but I think there should not be one at all inside your red circle. The best answer will be from mr. Performabuilt. If he hasn't answered in a couple of days, send him a PM.

Re: 700R-4 HELP FAST!!!!

ok so i took some advice from a freind and removed the checkball from the trans and put it all back together. Now ive hit another snag, my car is an 82 Camaro SC, originally a 2.8 with the 200r-4, now in sits a 350 and this 700r-4, problem is i dont think my crossmember will bolt up to the tranny, i can get only 2 holes to line up with the body, HELP PLEASE!!!
