Dextron II for a T-5...other options

I need to refill my T-5 after the repairs that were performed on it. Now I was looking at the AMSOIL(spelling??) synthetic ATF and it said that it was compatable with Dextron II. I have also heard of Moble1 ATF fluid that you can use in the T-5. What do you guys use and where do you buy them.

When I had the bearings replaced in my T5, the tranny shop refilled it with Red Line synthetic ATF. They said it was the best, and better than what GM recommends.

Absolutely go with the AMSOIL. Putting their ATF in a 5-speed back in '83 is what got me started with them (never missed a shift after that). They now have what they call "Super Shift" ATF, which doesn't have the friction modifiers (needed for smooth shifts in automatics, not needed for gears); it's a little less per quart. Check www.amsoil.com or the yellow pages.

Red Line is good, certainly better than the petroleum-based fluid GM puts in, but not quite the "best". Sorry, Trem.
