Oh God, Tranny Fluid Every Where?
I got home today and while going down the road I noticed smoke behind me, so I looked under the car. I must have lost all of my tranny fluid. The pan is in place but there is fluid all over the exhaust. I just had the tranny rebuilt and hope nothing is permanetly damaged. Anyone have any ideas as to what might have happened. I won't be able to get under the car until later today.

I put 3 qts. of fluid in it, started the car up but there wasn't anything leaking. My brother looked under the car and said the rear seal to the tranny was dry so it wasn't leaking there, but he couldn't tell about the front. Anyone have any ideas, especially since I started it up put it in drive but nothing was leaking.

Either the seal is coming out or the bushing is walking out and eating the seal up due to the remove old parts and install new parts rebuild, I would guess no durability modifications were made knowing this.

I may just be the pan gasket has blown out. The same thing happened to my Monte SS.

I had a torque convertor grenade on me... it had a crack on it's snout. Sucker broke apart, and took my front seal with it.
Good thing Lee Myles had just rebuilt it a week previously... I towed it back, mad as hell. I knew something was wrong, too, and asked them if the torque convertor could cause what I felt. They told me "no". After the explosion, I reminded them about my earlier question
Were you overfilled? There's a vent tube on the top of the 700r4 case that will spew fluid... sometimes this happens when the trans is overfilled and gets hot- the fluid expands and has nowhere to go.

It shouldn't have overheated, the fluid level was fine plus I have a tranny cooler, and the car was running around 180*. It wasn't overfilled either because I haven't had to put in any since the rebuild and that was a month ago, and this is the first time I have noticed tranny fluid leaking. I was thinking, think it might be a loose tranny line, the guy who put in my motor also put in the tranny and on the motor he must have not tightened the lower radiator hose all the way because one day I got to college and antifreeze started leaking from it, could this be possible with the tranny line.

Sure, definately... if it's that loose to dump out that much fluid, you should be able to spin the fitting with your fingers.

I noticed a small drip coming from what I guess is some kind of sending unit, it is located on the passenger's side with a black and red wire, the red wire is broke off though. I tried to check to see if it was loose but by hand it won't screw in. Any ideas.

My seal between the TC and the Tranny is leaking. When I drive it hard I get some white smoke and can tell it's burning.... but my dipstick constantly reads full?
I don't wanna go to the tranny shope and pay 250$ for em just to take the tranny out!

Don't feel bad! I have a TCI full competition 700R-4 tranny and it spews fluid out of the front seal at high rpm!
