3.42's or 3.73's?

Car: 1991 Trans Am
Engine: sb chevy's.
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 2.73
3.42's or 3.73's?

So I have both sets of gears, 3.73's and 3.42's. Still debating on which set to install. From what I see everyone on this site seems to like the 3.42's better. why is this? also wouldn't the 3.73's give a better launch or kick on bottom end?

It's easy to overgear a TPI. If you go 3.73, you should consider the HSR intake.
