Transfixleo I had e-mailed you a couple of weeks ago and since then I had found, like you said, my 2-4 band was broken at the anchor pin. Thanks for the help but I have another problem, not major but I need ideas for a later fix. The car shifts great, I had been without 2nd for a year and a half, but from a full stop it shifts fine all the way through the gears but if I am moving and it has to downshift to 2nd there is some jerking, not bad though and it does keep accelerating and then it is like "turbo" just kicked. It is like pulses of hesitation and it only does this on a downshift. Also in OD when I step down it slips and I think this has something to do with the fact that I drove the car for a year and a half the way it was, but I don't use OD often and when I do it is a constant speed and it does fine like that. Hit me with any ideas!!

First thought is the Input Sprag, especially when you say slip on down shift. If this is on s 4-3 or 4-2 then it is definately that. If this is an early 700 ('82-'86) they did not have very good shift timing and this could possible explain your second gear problem. The best fix for that is the TransGo Shift Kit as it comes with a large selection of springs to recalibrate all of the shift points.

The problem was 3-2 but I made a tv cable adjustment and it stopped and it shifts and downshifts like a beast now. Thanks
