V6 T5 To V8

I'm planning on a trip to the local U_PULL_IT. There's a few v6 cars with the T5. Question is if I take the tranny and find a v8 bellhousing, will the 6cyl tranny work? Also what kind of rebuild kit should I get to make it stand up to the 8, or do I even have to?

I did this with my camaro. My transmission was the 4-speed manual. It worked and is still working fine, although I don't abuse it much. Most people say it won't last if you are a hard driver.

This will be behind a TPI 350, most likely with a ZZ4 Cam and at least headers, maybe a complete exhaust. What do I have to do to make a T5 take all that power? From what I hear, in stock form, the 700R4 is stronger.

I dont recommend using a V6 trans at all, but you will also need to change the input shaft on the trans, as a V6 and V8 are different. I've never had a V6 T5 opened up, so I dont know the difference internally.

Yes, you can use the v6 t-5 behind the v8. You need to use the v6 clutch disk, since the v6 t-5 input shaft is 14 spline and not the 26 or 28 the v8 t-5 is. The tranny, in v8 form is fairly weak and the v6 one is worse. Yes it can be done, but I would not.
