Got a few questions for you guys

I am new to the whole car thing so bear with me. I just did an RPO decode and have 2 questions for you. First one is I have the G80 code which reads Axel Positraction, Limited Slip. The question is, is that a one legger. I have been explained the differences before but dont remember them and actually was confused before so I need another lesson on them. The second question is I have codes MM5 and M39 which are merchandised Trans man 5 spd provisions and Trans man 5 spd Borg Warner 77mm 2.95 respectively. My questions on those are what does Merchandised and provisions mean in the first code and the next set of questions are arent all manuals Borg Warners and what does that 77mm and 2.95 mean. I am sorry it that is a confusing post but I would like to get to know my car a little better and this is the best place to start. Thanks in advance.

If you have RPO G80, you should have a POSI, and not a one legger, if no one has messed with it.

Although if you followed the 'burnout' routine, you prolly only left one mark because most of the stockers with some miles are pretty worn.

as for the trans i believe they had a borg warner and a wc-t5 which was a better trans that had a greater torque and hp capacity,as for the one you have i cant tell you how to tell, sorry,as for the posi,if you ever jack up the back end then try to spin the wheels if they dont spin its a posi,if they do a little the posi is worn, and if one spins its a one legger.

Ok as far as the spinning the tires thing I jacked the car up and one spins one way and the other spins the other way that means its posi right? Also the car only has 66,000 miles on it so if it is posi it shouldnt be that worn out should it? I know that the guy before me hadnt messed with it because he likes to keep his stuff stock

I don't know why every one says "do a burn out" " jack it up and spin it" those are the worst test to do. are diffs have clutches right??? what is the point of having clutches?? any one?? there is way to check the unit but, you need a torque wrench and need to do several test not "jack it up" I am sure it is still posi and may slip a bit more but, still should be good.
