How to ship a trans cross-country

I recently bought a rebuilt 700r4. The trans is located in Sacramento CA, and needs to be shipped to Baltimore. It weighs 127lbs. UPS and FedEx offer great prices, under $200, but the weight must be below 150lbs. The wood crate the guy wants to build weighs almost 80lbs, putting it over their limits. I've checked a number of other truck freight companies and the want way too much. So what I need to know is how to get my hands on a large plastic crate under 20lbs, or who ships a 200lb crate for a decent price. Any help is appreciated.

go to wal mart and buy a plastic storage box. duct tape it shut and you're ready to go. i used cardboard box to ship a trans in, wraped it in trash bags incased it leaked, put it in a box and 2 rools of duct tape later it was on it's way to miami.

GM uses plastic shipping containers that weigh less than 10 lbs, but that doesn't do you any good. Ede has a good idea. Make sure its wrapped up good, if it starts leaking, it may never reach its destination.
