You'll have minimal line-pressure, your shifts will be early and soft with lots of heat and wear.

Most of the 700's that I have see have a TV Exhaust checkball, so that if the cable breaks or is too loose, the checkball will block the TV Exhaust port, causing MAX line pressure. Just drive it and see what happens. If it shifts real early and soft, then you need to fix it ASAP. If it shifts late and hard, then your tranny has defaulted to MAX pressure, and you won't have to fix it as soon (it will just suck to drive, since it won't shift into second untill about 35-40 MPH) Probably won't hit 4th until about 80 either.

the trick to that though...the boot that goes on the trans isn't there either..it was ripped slap out...everything was ripped out of the tranny..cable and boot...so there is an open hole there...

Looks like you're gonna need a new cable then. Try http://www.hptransparts.com they have them cheap.

I had my trans rebuild a couple of years ago and drove it a couple times without the tv cable being hooked up,i think the above post about defaulting to max line pressure is right on.The thing was scary! It was like the shift kit from hell.It would shift into second at 3500/4000rpm.You should see the people stare when your tires break loose and the car goes sideways at 4 grand !I can't see this being good for driveline parts.
