i made some research but i'm not quite sure if may conclusions are right.

im running 383 HSR with 30th injectors, edelbrock performer 60859 heads and CompCams cam spec:

Basic Operating RPM Range: 1,800-5,800
Duration at 050 inch Lift: 224 int./230 exh.
Advertised Duration: 276 int./281 exh.
Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio: 0.503 int./0.510 exh. lift
Lobe Separation (degrees): 112

tranny is 700r4 with B&M TransPak

Re: chooseing stall

With your combo, I'd say you have enough low-end torque that a 3000 stall would be looser than you need, I'd start with a 2400-2500.

Re: chooseing stall

For street/strip, you want a stall about 500 rpm past the beginning of the power band. 1800 + 500 = 2300. 2500 will probably still work fine based on the advertised duration. I wouldn't recommend going over 3000 rpm.

For all out race, 1000 rpm over where the powerband starts.
