LT1 T56 pairing with LS1 motor

I purchased a '96 Camaro T56 without realizing I couldn't just "bolt it on" to my LS1 motor (out of '99 vette). As many of you know the input shaft is too short. As well as the bellhousing is different.

My question is, how do I swap the shaft? I have had trouble founding a site, let alone a forum, that describes the changing of these shafts.

Someone here has done this...

Additionally, will I need to shorten the driveshaft?

Re: LT1 T56 pairing with LS1 motor

Nevermind, I found an article. Swapping these input shafts aren't as simple as swapping cams to say the least.

I'm putting my LT1 T56 tranny package up for trade for LS1 T56.
Includes: Trans, bellhousing, clutch, pressure plate, clutch fork, and flywheel. Out of 96 Camaro with about 60,000 miles
