4.10's in a 92 RS

There is alot of threads on rear end gears but very very little on 4.10's at all. I am running 375 hp at the crank with a 700R4 in my 92 RS. When the car was order it was built with the GU2 open 2.73 rear end. Now the engine is done I am working on getting LOTS of G's on acceleration with head snapping shifts. How many of you are running 4.10's and how do they perform on the strip and at highway speeds of about 70-75 mph?

You don't want 4.10s in the car if you are driving 70-75 mph on the highway. I have those gears and the engine will be at nearly 3000-3500 rpms. Even with your 700R4 trans.

go with 3.73s. they are a good match up for a street strip car with a 700r4

Re: 4.10's in a 92 RS

I installed a 3.42 axle yesterday to run unitil I can get my moser, I see what you guys mean the 3.42 really made the car come alive, also I now understand the super low first gear in the 700R4. Traction would really be a serious issue.

Leave the car in D & you'd get a feeling of what 2.73s to 3.73s (4.10s would be even worse) would be like. Traction no longer exists on launch & the engines SCREAMS at highway speeds.a

Where can I find the correct gear for the VSS to correct the speedometer. I know it is showing WAY fast by at least 20mph
