Fluid Lines
My rubber transmission lines I have been using have failed on me 1 to many times.
I recently acquired some factory bent steel lines off a parts car I bought.
Question: Can these be Installed without pulling the motor starter or exhuast?

come to think of it, what year is the car? do the fule lines go to the passengerside or come up the driverside?

Re: Fluid Lines
No ATF lines.
Its been a good 5 yrs since I carelessly cut my original ones but I'm pretty sure they do not go up over the top of the trans, they go along the lower right side of the trans, up over the crossmember and snake up to the radiator.
Yes they are on the passenger side. Are you sure of what your talking about?

Re: Fluid Lines
yea... those lines are 5/16"... they are hard steel lines that run from the lower side of the trans, snakes its way to the lower and upper passenger side of the radiator.... im pretty sure u cant do that witht he tranny in the car... i have my trans and engine out of my 305TPI wit the 700r4. but the trans lines bolt to the tranny bellhousing that connects too the rear of the block. the lines are threaded into the trans about 1/2 the way up the trans via 2 male fittings that are above the servo assembly... this is will be very hard to do with the trans in the car esp with the tranny tunnel limiting ur arm/hand movement and room for a sockey/wrench is limited.

Re: Fluid Lines
If you know how to cut and flare lines the easiest way I've come up with is to cut the lines into 2 pieces and join them with a union. I did that while my car was still an auto when I did my motor swap and it made it much easier to disconnect the lines to drop the tranny
