Can someone explain this cyberdyne box?!?!?
I've got the cyberdyne speedo calibration box for my 6-speed. I'm not exactly sure what wires to connect to make this thing work. The directions are kinda understandable, but I really don't want to fry anything. Thanks.

I have an 88 Firebird with a cyberdine calibration box 9902 on it. I called the techs at Cyberdine and he explained how to hook it up. I looked at my Firebird to double check. It wires as follows. The purple wire is the signal wire to the ecm. You want to splice into the purple wire. Attach the white wire to the speed sensor connector. Attach the blue wire(they said to try the solid blue wire first. If it didn't work right try the blue wire with a black tracer)of the calibration box to the purple wire going to the ecm. The black wire of the calibration box goes to the ground. To adjust the speed on the calibration box, the adjustment screw on the left is for coarse adjustment(for being bad off). Adjust in close. Then the adjustment screw on the right is to fine tune it. Clockwise decreases. I've had it on my car for about six months and have had no problems. If you have any questions, call the techs at Cyberdine. I had to call Jeg's (1-800-345-4545)to get the number to Cyberdine(IT'S NOT TOLL FREE). Hope this helps.

Hey automanbuilder... I was wondering if your speedo jumps around on you a little?. With my car the speedo bounces up a little when I'am going 50mph or less and down at 80mph or more, also it does'nt move tell I'am going about 7mph. I have noticed the speed/density cars have no problem but they also have no speed sensor buffer. I have the 9902 box hooked up like you said so do you or anyone else think its my box thats not working or is this a common problem? BTW is your car TBI or TPI?

My speedo jumped around some but I finally got it adjusted out with the fine adjustment on the box.I had a hard time getting mine adjusted.I tried both of the blue output wires on mine and seemed like one of the bounced around worse than the other.Which blue wire are you using?I had to use the solid blue wire.I had just about given up on mine ever being right but I finally got lucky with the adjustment screws.

Mine was acting funny too. It doesn't register till about 5 mph, but when I first start the car up or let it sit idling and put my foot on the brake the speedo jumps all around. Wierd. Is it the 12volt source I used?? I tapped into the reverse light wires so I could put it by my shifter. Other than that, when my foot is off the brake it works fine.

I'am useing the solid blue wire, but no matter what I do it does'nt fix the problem. I think I will change the speedo gears over the winter and be done with it.

Hey, I'm still trying to figure this thing out. If I'm idling, the speedometer jumps around like crazy sometimes. Does anyone have an idea as to why? I'm using the solid blue wire, maybe I need to switch to the other one. Any ideas??
One more thing - I have it hooked up to the reverse light wires for a 12volt supply, but that shouldn't effect it, right??

It might be your power source.Mine is connected in the fuse box to the accessory fuse. If thats not it I would check the ground wire for a loose connection.
