Need the perfect 700R4 for mid 11 sec 383 miniram nitrous daily driver

Im in a huge delimma of trying to find the perfect converter. Car is a 383, miniram, afr 195 ported heads, 3.73 gears, built 700r4 with stock converter and a 100 shot of NOS. I expect the car to go mid 11's on slicks. I drive the car everyday and dont mind things like no a/c, rough idle etc but i need a converter that wont burn up the tranny on a daily driver. Any suggestions?

Everyone I know of that got a Vigilante swears by them after that, so that would be my recommendation. Call them and ask about your specific application.

wayquick,

Have I got the webpage for you

I personally have a Vigilante 2800 that I will be upgrading (free stall upgrade) to a Vigilante 3600. HOWEVER - check out Yank Converters. Go to www.converter.cc and then click on the 'dyno' link on the left pane. They compare their converters against the PI converters. What I like about the Yank converters is that they have 6-bolt mounting flanges and they are tighter on the top end so that that you don't lose MPH. That website is definitely one of THE BEST websites if you are trying to make a converter decision.

I might be swapping out my 700 for a TH350 or TH400 and since I will have to go with a new converter it will definitely be a Yank converter ... and, that is coming from a PI Vigilante owner.

BTW - where did you get your 700 built? What parts did they use?

After the stall upgrade on my PI and after installing a good exhaust I should be able to hit 11's NA on the stock 350 bottom end. However, I have a 400 block just waiting to be used. I'll probably stroke it to 420 so I need a tranny that can take the abuse.

I got my tranny from "tranny doctor" out of nevada. They have a one yr warrenty on thier street/strip tranny regardless of horsepower. They really stand behind the tranny and deliver it for $750 with a tranny cooler and filter setup. comes with a great shift kit etc. Cant beat that deal with a stick. Thanks for the webpage, im in the middle of reading all the info right now.

Wayquick...

Actually, at this point, I am sticking with the 700R4. In fact - I think I am going to have the Tranny DR build me one ... maybe ...
