did I break something
The other morning when I was driving into my parking spot, I accidentily splipped my car into reverse. When I reliezed what I just did I put it back in neutral and the car was dead. So I started it back up, put it in reverse, backed up, and then went foward into the parking spot. I drove it that night and everything seemed fine. Today it was fine too. I was just wondering if anything could break by doing that. I was only going about 5-10 mph. any opinions?

I wouldn't make a habit out of doing that. I can't imagine it not being bad for your tranny.

Engine: wore out 360 // LT1
Transmission: 700R4 // 4L60E
Axle/Gears: 3.73 // 3.23
i've done it a couple of times at 30 plus and so far its just killed the motor and nothing more
just dont do it with your foot on the gas that would probably hurt something pretty bad

I have done this before,,,dont worry about the engine shuting off on you,,,this is a saftey feature,,,If you are moving faster than 5mph. and the car is put into reverse, the nuetral/reverse saftey switch on your shifter sends a signal to the ecm that the tranny has been put into reverse over 5mph. and the ecm will shut the engine down instantly,,,hope this helps
