700R4 will not shift 2-3 at WOT

700R4 will not shift 2-3 at WOT
It just started yesterday. I have to let off the gas for it to shift. A couple of months ago I put in a corvette servo and a .471 boost valve and it was shifting right. What could the problem be?

2-4 band,is about worn out.Time for a overhaul/buildup!Just had the samething happen to my car.

Get ready it is going to let GOOOOOO!!! That is what mine started doing, in fact it was doing it when I bought it but didn't know that it was a problem. The 2-4 band is about worn out. If you do the maintenance on it you can get another year out of it. I did and make sure you drive in D and not OD for your non freeway daily driving.

Ok so does i have a 92 RS...all gears work fine except for fourth. sucks having to drive on the highway only going 75mph. would that be the same thing?

Well, wait, I didn't have a 2-3 WOT upshift for 3 years, then the trans died- and it was related to a design flaw in the '86 700r4's- the pump starved for fluid.
Oops, just noticed Danny also has an '86.

I will try something, I will add a little more fluid and see what will happen. A while back it had the same problem with the 1-2 shift at WOT and I found out it was low on fluid.

I talked to Dana at www.pro-built.net and he told me the 3-4 clutch pack is on its way out. So I will be saving some money for one of his stage 2 700R4 trannys.

I now have the same problem with my 86 700r4, it happened when I floored it in OD, I somehow managed to completly burn up drive It's been like this for about 2 months now and hasn't gotten any worse (or better), but I cant stand not being able to go over 75.... I changed the filter about 2 weeks about and it was nasty metal shavings everywere, so it looks like a rebuild is gonna be done pretty soon..... unless I can find a good t56 for around $700.....
