How to convert cable driven to electronic speedo
is there a simple way to do this?
i have stock non cable driven speedo out of a 90 firebird and electronic speedo sensor off the tranny. i like the looks of the newer firebird gauges and the 120 mph rather than the 85 mph limit.
i just want to due away with the cable driven speedo. this is going on my 84 trans am carbed non ECU control.

You want an electronic speedo but without using a computer? You should look into an aftermarket AutoMeter speedometer then. The stock electronic speedo sensor from the trans goes into the computer and then to the speedometer. I'm not sure if the stock speedo unit will accept the signal straight from the trans.

it be simpler if i went the auto meter way but why? i 've done it with my other 2 3rd gens for racing. this car I like to keep my "GM" GM. their gauges don't really match the 3rd gen interior trim stylez having white faced gauges with silver bezels on black 80's style dash. Its kinda like putting a bumper sticker on a ferrari. i just want a near stock looking but tricked out.
