Clutch pedal feel

Ok I am a new thirdgen owner so I am not accustumed to it. I find that my clutch travels so far and that it only engages a little halfway up and finally bites about an a half an inch to an inch before I get to the the top of the travel. When do you clutches grip? How far up? Is this normal or is the clutch wearing. Thanks

Mine grabs about half way. Most of the time i dont have to totally push the clutch all the way in to shift. Half way does it for me. Does anyone know if this hurts to car?

That is normal. Half way is good on a hydraulic clutch, on a cable (pre 84 cars) cluth half way is too little before grabbing because you run the risk of it having a constant slip. On a hydraulic cluth, it 'automatically' readjusts itself. Do NOT bleed it. Right now you have a 1:1 ratio, the ONLY way to reduce a 1:1 ratio in a hydraulic system is to add compression and the only way to add compression is to add air. This is not something that you want to do! You will not hurt your clutch/tranny if you don't push the pedal all the way down, aslong as you're not forcing it into gear or grinding your clutch is releasing fully and you're not putting overdue stress on the syncros.
