T5 whine even in neutral w/clutch out

I've been reading posts on here about T5' and there whineing noise. Mine never had one till lately. Started off hearing it in 1st and 2nd gear...progressively got worse then few days ago I started the car after sitting quite a while put it in neutral and released cluth. When I rev it up it sounds like it has a blower sittin on top the motor. After I drove for a while it went away when in neutral, but still there in low gears. Started it up next day and again whines in neutral w/clutch out. Havent driven it so dont know if it would go away or not. Thought maybe throwout bearing but any throwouts I've known to go bad made more of a chattering noise, not whine. I mean this sounds like a blower setup. Also engine and clutch components all have less than 5000 miles on them..my guess is about 3500 miles. Anybody with some advice I would appreciate it.

It sounds like the throw-out bearing to me. My brother had a similar issue on an s10 with an nv3500 tranny though.... his was the front bearing going out. Might be good to check to be on the safe side. The throw-out bearing should last for a lot longer than 5,000 miles, unless there is a reason causing it to go out.

Just wanted to let everyone know what the problem was for future references. Crawled under to check things out and 3 of 4 trans to bellhousing bolts were completely loose. Tightened them up good and no whine. Would have never guessed that one.
