how much gain in performance with a aluminuim driveshaft?

I currently have the stock steel drive shaft and ran 12.9@110 with it vibrating bad on acceleration and deceleration ever since i installed the 3:73. How much will i gain in the 1/4 if any This is also why I havn't been back to the track untill i get a loop and a good driveshaft.

None, The ONLY gain you would get would be MAYBE by being lighter. But all it does is doesnt vibrate as much.

There "may" be a very small gain because of the lighter rotating mass as well as the lighter weight. The biggest reason for using one is the weight saving. You could always pay $700+ for a carbon fiber driveshaft and save even more weight.

I have seen dyno #'s that indicate a 1-3 rear wheel horsepower increase with an aluminum driveshaft. The engine will also be more free revving, won't have to fight rotating mass. The biggest gain I noticed with my driveshaft was how fast the engine will spin up vs the steel driveshaft.

goto www.ws6.com There is a chart over there comparing a dyno run of both the steel and aluminum driveshafts. A bit more power is abosorbed by the steel shaft, so the al d/s will allow a bit more hp to reach the wheels.
