Transco kit for 700R4
Has anyone installed the transco kit for a 700R4? I was thinking of installing one and wondered what your thoughts/comments on it were. Does it work well? Is it easy to install? Can it be done without dropping the tranny?

It is by no means easy! I tried to install one of these in my 86 Trans Am and needless to say it has been sitting for almost two years, because I haven't wanted to fool with it again.

transgo is the best kit for the 700r4.. you can install it with the tranny in the car,,. i dont think its that hard, you just have to take your time and read the directions carefully.

Car: '89 Pontiac Firebird
Engine: 5.7L
Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 10-bolt w/ 4.10 and Eaton Posi
I have installed a couple of Transgo, and they are not the easiest ones out there to install, but they are the best.
As long as you can read instructions and have some kind of mechanical inclination, you should be able to install the kit.
I just did a stage 3 rebuild and shift kit in my firebird with a 2800 stall Vigilante, and it is awesome!!!
I highly recommend the kit. If you aren't sure about doing it yourself, give Dana at Pro-Built a call. He is very helpful.
