driveshaft or tranny mount vibration?
I'm getting a vibration from the transmission tunnel in my Iroc. I've replaced both u-joints and still have the vibration. It happens between 1500-1800 rpm, doesn't matter what gear I'm in,15-1800 rpm every time. It doesn't vibrate in Park or Neutral when revved up to 15-1800 rpm, only under load and moving. Could it be my driveshaft or my tranny mount?

Re: driveshaft or tranny mount vibration?
Okay, I replaced the tranny mount, and for a week I had no vibration(IT WAS WONDERFUL!!!!). Well, today I was driving up to DC for the 4th, and the vibrations came back. But it's different this time. Now it's only at 1600 rpm and only at 65 mph, but the shakes are no longer in the tranny tunnel. The vibration is coming from the floor, where I think the tranny cross brace bolt to the frame rails. Now here is the cool part, while driving, if I go to the right or left, the vibration goes away. Go straight, the vibration comes back. So I think I've eliminated the drivetrain. Could it be screwed up alignment/front susp. or tires that need to be balanced. Please help, this vibration is making me coocoo for Coco Puffs.

what new trans mount did you use? if it was rubber you may have even broke it already.

Re: driveshaft or tranny mount vibration?
I've heard that a bad pinion bearing will cause driveline vibrations, but the vibrations go away when I bear to the right or left, the vibration goes away. Would a bad pinion bearing cause that?

Re: driveshaft or tranny mount vibration?
can you feel the vibration in the seat?
have you tried jacking the rear end up and checking for play in the axel bearings? the seals usually leak pretty bad prior to a bearing like that going out but it's worth looking into
