700r4 rethread oil pan bolt?
hey everyone i had bought a 700r4 with a bolt that was broken off in the front corner of the oil pan and after drilling it out the threading was almost gone it cant handle to much torque, im putting a rubber gasket on it, should i re-thread the hole with a rethreading bit? being that i cant stick a nut on the other end cuz the bell house is in the way or just tighten up the other 15 and tighten that 16th bolt as much as i can? any help or ideas?

Another option is to drill and tap the hole for a larger diameter bolt. I alwas helicoil though. m8x1.25 is the correct size insert.

It is wise to be nervous, especially if you have never installed one before. I recommend having someone show you how to do it, if possible, if this is the first time you are doing one. The kit will cost $30 and will include the correct tap to thread the freshly drilled hole. The drill bit will not be included, but be sure to use the correct size marked on the tap, and be sure it is straight and sharp. The most important part is to keep the drill bit straight and true while drilling.
