700r4 acting funny....PLEASE HELP!

Whenever I am messin around with the mustangs on the street, my tranny acts funny. At least that is what I think is doing it... When Im doing like 60 and I go to get on the gas to go the car starts to accelerate but then it starts up shifting then down shifting as it doesn't know what gear to be in. I am not sure if this is the transmission or maybe the torque converter(both were replaced at the same time). It doesn't do it during normal driving just when I am trying to race and it just gets annoying when they start pulling past me at the last minute because of my problem...

Rebuilt transmission with a Monster Transmission Rebuild kit and a brand new stock converter about a little over a year ago.

Have you thought about the throttle cable secondary linkage? I should have read your post closer - don't know if you have a carb or F.I.

You could always use the process of elimination and try to manually shift through your gears. It shouldn't jump around on you. But...if it jumps around then it could be...???

O.K. guys, jump in here.

In the mean time, I'll keep thinking about this one.
