which trans go shift kit is made for firm shifts and high peformance applications?

contact Pro Built Automatics on here. his name is Dana. he has a kit he puts together with the vette servo that kinda takes some of the guesswork out of it if you have never been inside a tranny before.

ive talked to him he combines the 2-3 and the jr kit together ive been inside the trans i get parts from a trans company threw my work for cheap or i would go with his parts. I guess ill order the 2-3 then.

that's cool. i work for a trans parts company. that was the only way i could afford to build my trans that way i did....lol

which one we order from trans star and dacco what shift kit did u use? I work at aamco trans pulling the bad trans and installing the new or rebuilt ones took apart a couple 700r4 and 4l60e's im ready to build my first one.

i work at whatever it takes transmission parts. the closest store we have to you is scranton, pa. it's not really a very big store. we get our torque convertors from CVC.

i used the 700 2-3 but wouldn't really say i used just that. i changed a couple of things when i built it. plus other mods.

right now i have a superior shift kit in there and its way way to firm even after adjusting the tv cable no matter what it will bark the tires from 1-2 part throttle shift. Im ready to try out trans go. Even going down the strip with 26x11.5x16 slicks the damn trans will chirp the tires on the 1-2 shift.

the 700 2-3 will give you 2 choices of spring to use in the line bias valve. use the least firm of the 2. if you use the one for the crispest shift, you will have some rough engagement between 1-2.

i also used the transgo 3-4 valve for my wot upshift feature. i like it much better that the B&M or other versions since the transgo one does it with the 3-4 upshift valve instead of the tv valve.

if ya need to know anything about parts interchange just let me know. i've got an '86 unit with 10 vane rotor, '95 reverse input assembly, '98 input assembly, 4l65e reaction hub/bearing/rear planet, beast sunshell, and super servos. all of it working happy together

i was going to get the 3-4 upshift kit but it says for 82-87 for some reason. im thinking im ight want to go with all the firmest springs because im installing a 3200 stall with this so im think on part throttle it will soak up these harsh shifts.

i was running a 2800 stall and it would still snap your neck. i always heard stuff clunking and eventually cracked the output shaft along the lube holes for the planetary gears/rear sungear. how my rear planet survived i don't know. i actually had to knock the rear ring gear hub off the shaft with a hammer because the crack went down into the splines. i've never had slicks or street slicks on my car. just khumo 245/50/16's.

If you already have the 700-2-3 kit, get the 700 Junior and I will tell you how to put both of them together the way that I do them. The modification to the TV plunger sleeve is fairly simple. I have been doing this combining of the two kits for about 11 years now. With smoother part throttle shifts, I rarely see broken parts.
