700r4, 1-2 shift at 2500-3000 rpm

I suck when it comes to troubleshooting Transmissions and my knowledge is limited.

This is a stock rebuilt 700r4 transmission I bought and had installed at a transmission shop 6 months, and 4 thousand miles ago. (Take it to the shop have them look at it...) Way ahead of you guys, I will... but first I want a general idea of what might be happening...

The car revs up to about 2500 to 3000 rpm before first shifts to second, after that all my other gears shift fine it seems. The searches for the forums are a bit on the crap side these last couple of weeks...

Another question I have, is it common for stock 700r4 to over rev and not shift correctly (get stuck) when you gun it?

What throttle position do you test at?

I gun it a little bit to about 40-50% + (my guess) it it will shoot up to 2500-3k sit there for a second then it shifts(Shifts fine, no clunking or anything). If I am cruising around my work area (speed bumps blah blah) I don't open it as much (maybe 20-30% or so) which takes it to about 2k-1750 and shifts fine at that point as well (after it sits there for a second or 2, almost like it is building up pressure?)... Any ideas?

1st I would check for correct TV cable adjustment. But there might be a sticking valve in the VBody.
