a flush should, but after a flush you should still go in and change the filter.

If you don't like the shops, buy a couple filter kits and the cheapest oil you can find and change it, run a it a bit, then change it again till it comes out clean.

Re: 700r4 has water in it

first of all fix the reason water got there in the first place . more than likely the radiator cooler . then flush , flush , flush . no need to rattle on about filter . work all gears while flushing . L.O.L.

Re: 700r4 has water in it

The possible places are top vent (would need the car submerged in water), the pan gasket (most likely leak fluid out B4 water in), the TV cable o-ring (also would need water up high....like to the ground effects), the dipstick gasket (same as TV in height to the ground), coulve run in at the cowl over time in rains if the dipstick wasnt put all the way in and/or seal on the dipstick was bad or like Tom said and it be in the cooler lines in the radiator. New radiator would be needed then.

Re: 700r4 has water in it

I doubt enough water could get in there through the dipstick tube unless you were driving under water, Your more likley to find your radiator is leaking into your trans through the cooler in it , I have seen it many times , Have it presure tested or at least by pass it and run a large cooler, Unforunatley though water causes the material on the frictions to separate so if its been there long at all you are headed for big problems reguardless, Sorry

- plus, if the dipstick seal was totally left out, then the trans was probably ran while low on fluid. Converter drain back while the car is not running would have leaked a considerable amount onto the ground.

Re: 700r4 has water in it

the guy before me bought it for a project , so it only seen the road 4 or 5 times after the trans swap (including test drives) he refiled the fluid before he drove it anywhere . it did leak a lot of fluid when it sat . i drive the car at least once a day (kid with no job) and it drives fine, shifts perfect but not for long with the water in it . i just need to milk it untill i can find a car with a blown motor and good body to put mine into , my car is a total rust bucket
