Spohn Transmission CrossMember Interfering with Transmission Oil Pan.
Hi guys,
Has anyone had any problems with a Spohn Transmission CrossMember Interfering with their transmission Oil Pan. Kind of resting against it?

there should be some slop in the mounting holes to the frame, maybe loosen the bolts in the frame and the one in the trans mount, and wiggle the crossmember away from the pan.

86TA, Is it a captive nut type system where their is a slight adjustment possible such as on some of the K member bolts holes? I'll try as you say to loosen the bolts and wiggle the crossmember away from the pan. If that doesn't give enough then I'll try dropping the assembly and reinstalling it.
toms84ss, It is the correct Spohn Torque arm and transmission crossmember assembly for the TH700R4 Auto Transmission.
I'm suffering from a terrible vibration issue with the car which I'm trying to trace. A local transmission specialist pointed this contact/interference out to me.
Is there any room in the rear part of the transmission oil pan for denting it in to aid with clearance? Or would the valve body /other parts be too close or the risk of damage to the filter etc be too high?

you probably wont be getting a real bad vibration from the crossmember touching the pan, maybe a thud or a squeak from things rubbing. But yes the mounting holes in the crossmember are slotted, you can wiggle it around a little and should be able to get the clearance you need. Spohn makes pretty good stuff, so a defect is unlikely.

86TA - I agree with you entirely, I'm just trying to exhaust all simple and cheap possibilities before taking the car to a professional. I'm dreading it being a transmission or rear end problem.
I agree Spohn's products are great, my entire car has every available Spohn chassis/suspension product.
