c-clip or bad axle?
Well I've got a 92 T/A with the 3.23 gears, I've been hearing a grinding noise when making a left turn coming from the right wheel. First thought was the axle bearings. Well when I changed my brake pads I noticed a nice groove cut into the pads, couldn't figure out why tho. Well I got the new bearings, pulled the right axle installed the bearing and noticed the c-clip. The clip has a groove cut into the top portion on one side and a nice wear pattern on the other. Is there a way to tell if it's just the c-clip that is bad or is it the groove in the axle? Is there a thickness I can measure for? I appreciate the help. Thanks

Re: c-clip or bad axle?
for the price i would instal NEW GM c-clips to see if the noise goes away.
while you are in there pull the carrier out and inspect the bearings and races one of those two and i think you will find your problem.

Alright I've been looking all morning trying to find these damn c-clips and I can't find anything. Does anyone have any idea where someone could locate them? thanks
