Torque Converter installation question.
For those of you who have installed a torque converter in your 700r4's, when fully seated on the input shaft, is it a firm solid mount, or is there any play in the converter? When I installed mine and had it seated all the way in, I could still wobble the converter up and down, side to side. I think something may not be right.

Re: Torque Converter installation question.
It will wobble. The converter tightens up when it plugs into the back of the crankshaft. The play you feel is the clearance in the front pump bushing, multiplied by the length of the converter.
All normal.
All normal.

Re: Torque Converter installation question.
When you bring the TC forward to the back of the crankshaft, does the up & down decrease? or is there still play? If you shove the TC to the back and move it up and down, does it have the play you are talking about? How much clearance does it have between the TC and the flexplate when shoved all the way to the back?

Re: Torque Converter installation question.
the play occurred while the trans was out of the car on the bench. it's solid while everything is bolted up in the car.
