If I manually shift my 700r4 will it shift where I tell it to when I have the gas to the floor. When I have it in drive it will shift when the gov. tells it to, is this correct??

 

No you can hold a gear down as long as you like but the GOV still controls up shifts for instance your floored and shift from 1-2 at 3000 rpm its not going to happen . All you do from a shift perspective and this goes for the 4l60e to is keep it from shifting to the next gear when you shift manually
