700R4 likes to shift late
Umm, I just put some K&N filters in my IROC, and I decided that I needed to go out and test (not a big change, but I do get to drive my car), so I have a street that's straight, flat and long.
I mashed the throttle, and the car went through 1st fine, shifted at about 5k RPM (the redline), but then the 2-3 shift, it decided to wait until about 6,000 RPM (well into the red) to shift to third where it took off like a rocket.
Well, this pissed me off, considering that it just added 2 seconds to my 0-60 time because I encountered what was likely valve float at about 5200 rpm-ish all the way to 6k! Why the hell does this thing shift so late, is there some way to fix this?
It's got a hypertech chip in it, if that would be doing anything. Also, would putting it in drive rather than O-Drive make any difference.
I know manually shifting it is probably the best option, but sometimes I might not want to do that...

Because its a 700r4 theres not anything that can be done as far as the PCM for this issue, The 2-3 shift is the most complicated shift the 700r4 does and its likley the 3-4 clutch may have to much clearance. The only other thing you can do is play with a govenor kit to try and make the 2-3 shift start happening sooner, Its just takes longer to make. Or have a new built trans installed.

All right, I'll have to just play around with it and see what's up.
Thanks
