Broken tooth on pinion gear
Broke off half of a tooth on my pinion gear... just wondering how bad it is to keep driving the car (with the broken bit removed obviously) until I can fix it. And when I do fix it, is there anything else I should definitely do other than new ring & pinion gear set, pinion bearing, seal, crush sleeve... ?
Thanks,
Stu

Re: Broken tooth on pinion gear
well you know the right answer is don't drive it and get it fixed. first gear set i ever set up was for a racing buddy and we both weren't sure i could do it so he gave me a gear set with 4 or 5 teeth on the ring gear broken and chipped. he raced most of the year on it and drove some on the street. he finially went to a 4:88 and ran in the 11s and carried the front when he launched with the 4:88s i set up.
